State oil giant Saudi Aramco signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with France’s Arkema and Plastipolis to set up a business excellence center, it said in a statement.

The center will be used to promote nonmetallic industries in Saudi Arabia and France, and further increase local investment opportunities in products across various sectors.

The MoU was signed during the second Nonmetallic International Symposium, which took place in Lyon, France, in December 2019.

“The growth and development of nonmetallic sciences is a turning point which will positively affect the future of industry,” Saudi Aramco Senior Vice President for Technical Services, Ahmed Abdulrahman, said in his opening speech.

“The nonmetallic industry will offer growth opportunities for the downstream and marketing segment of the business,” he further added.
