Nama Chemicals Co. announced the shutdown of Hassad project, affiliate with Jubail Chemical Industries Co. (JANA), started from Oct. 1, for an expected period of 20 days and return to production on Oct. 21.

The company said in a bourse statement that planned maintenance activities will be performed along with replacing the chemical catalyst during the shutdown period.

The shutdown is planned as part of this year’s budget to carry out the periodic maintenance activities.

As the plants and products are integrated, necessary precautions were taken to mitigate the impact of the shutdown on the company's customers as well as other internal products.

The expected financial impact is SAR 19.6 million, which will appear in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Any further developments in this regard will be announced later.
