Tadawul trading screen
Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net buyers of SAR 5.1 billion worth of stocks on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in the week ending March 3, according to recent data issued by the Saudi bourse.
These net purchases are the highest since the week that ended on August 29, 2019, when they reached SAR 7.6 billion, upon implementing the second and final tranche of Saudi Arabia’s inclusion on MSCI Emerging Markets Index funds.
MSCI Inc., the provider of research-based indexes and analytics, implemented last week the changes to Saudi constituents in the quarterly review of its indices.
Foreign investors bought SAR 19.4 million worth of shares through swap agreements.
Saudi corporates and high-net worth individual investors were net sellers of shares worth SAR 3.9 billion and SAR 1.2 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, government related entities were net buyers of shares worth SAR 946 million.
