Details of insurers announcing increase in Najm stake value

Several Saudi-listed insurance companies announced today, April 9, a material event that has a positive impact on their assets as a result of an increase in the value of the investment held in Najm for Insurance Services Co. (Najm).

The insurers clarified that the investment will be recognized at fair value based on the independent valuation carried out by Najm, in application of IFRS 9 Financial Instruments, as of Jan. 1, 2023.

The companies indicated that they will recognize this increase in net changes in the fair value of investments through the comprehensive income, and this impact will be reflected in their interim financial statements for the three-month period ended March 31, 2023.
