Riyadh Air will announce a deal to expand its fleet size in the near future, Osamah Al-Nuwaiser, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Riyadh Air, revealed

Expanding and diversifying Riyadh Air’s fleet and integrating it with aircraft from other companies is crucial to achieve the carrier’s strategic goals in the aviation and travel sector. He pointed out that future mergers and acquisitions are subject to internal reviews, as well as continuous technical and commercial evaluations.

Riyadh Air will receive its first aircraft during the first quarter of 2025, followed by the sequential delivery of the rest throughout the same year, totaling 39 aircraft. Al-Nuwaiser also added that the the received aircraft will be subject to intensive testing operations, in addition to crew and pilot testing in collaboration with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and relevant entities in this field.

In the first half of the year, the first destinations of Riyadh Air will be announced, Al-Nuwaiser said, adding that the services and onboard products (in-flight cabin) for Riyadh Air will be announced during the current year.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced in March 2023 the establishment of Riyadh Air by the the Public Investment Fund. The new airline aims to contribute to the development of the aviation sector and enhance the kingdom's strategic position, Argaam earlier reported.

Riyadh Air aims to launch flights to more than 100 destinations around the world by 2030. It announced its first orders for the aircraft fleet after its establishment by purchasing 72 Boeing Dreamliner aircraft of the 787-9 model.
