Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) said its board approved on Wednesday to name Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Jabr its as new chairman, effective on April 1.
Al-Jabr will replace Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Bakr, whose term ends on March 31 due to retirement.
Al-Jabr holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals. He previously held leadership positions at several industrial affiliates of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), the last of which was as the chairman of its 50 percent-owned subsidiary Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ).
