Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed national carrier Riyadh Air, signed today, June 17, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rolls-Royce to supply 100 Trent XWB-97 engines to power its fleet of 50 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

 

The agreement was signed during the 55th Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, the company said in a statement picked up by Argaam.

 

Riyadh Air is set to begin operations later this year.

 

The A350-1000 jets, equipped with Trent XWB-97 engines, will help extend the airline’s reach to long-haul global destinations.

 

According to Argaam’s data, on June 16, Riyadh Air placed a confirmed order for 25 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with 25 more optional.
