A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck northern Iran on June 20, against the backdrop of ongoing Israeli attacks on the country, Iranian media and the US Geological Survey reported.
The quake occurred 35 kilometers from Semnan at 8:49 pm Makkah time. Residents in Qom and Tehran felt the tremor.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake was 10 kilometers deep.
The Sun reported a much shallower depth, just 35 meters.
The earthquake came as Israel continued bombing Iran’s nuclear and military sites, while Iran responded by firing ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv.
