Polypropylene buyers in Saudi shift to UAE for material: ICIS

05/04/2015 Argaam

Saudi Arabia-based polypropylene (PP) buyers are seeking to purchase spot material from the United Arab Emirates to offset the kingdom’s supply shortage, ICIS recently quoted industry sources as saying.

A major Saudi PP buyer said it is looking to obtain urgent requirements of PP from UAE supplier Borouge.

However, land delivery from the UAE to the kingdom may take between five to seven days, depending on road conditions.

Borouge is a leading provider of plastics solutions. It is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), one of the world’s major oil and gas companies, and Austria based Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions.
