Mobile data increased by 30-40% in Saudi Arabia, while demand for education and health platforms jumped by 1000% and 200% respectively, Al Arabiya TV reported, citing STC Chief Executive Officer, Nasser Al Nasser.

The electronic games' usage also leveled up by nearly 300% over the previous period.

The telecom operator appointed a full team to meet client demand to increase bandwidth, ensure quality solutions, in addition to other requests related to suspending services until end of April.

"We have a highly-advanced infrastructure in terms of the 4G and 5G networks and the fiber optics services across the Kingdom, thanks to the government support over the last three years," stated Al Nasser.

"STC has doubled internet speed 7 times within 3 years; the Kingdom raised its global rank in the speed of the internet within three years from the 105th to the 10th globally at the end of 2019," he added.

Al Nasser also noted that Saudi Arabia has around 3 million households across the Kingdom, and 217,000 km of extended optical fibers.
