French utility group appoints new Saudi CEO

French utility company, Engie, has appointed Turki Al Shehri as its new chief executive for Saudi Arabia.

In his new role, Al Shehri will head Engie’s efforts to grow its presence in the Kingdom and bolster its portfolio of investments, partnerships and customer solutions, as one of the leading French investors in Saudi Arabia.

He will work closely with the three businesses lines, in particular with its customer solutions entities in Saudi Arabia including Engie Cofely, Engie Energy Services Saudi, Cofely Axima, Endel and Tractebel.

With 17 years of experience in the energy sector, he has previously held numerous strategic roles including that of the head of Renewable Energy Project Development Office (Repdo) in the Ministry of Energy, and the Head of Power Investment at Saudi Aramco.

"I am delighted to join Engie and take on new challenges and opportunities to further grow our business in Saudi Arabia," Al Shehri said.
