U.S. energy companies cut 5 oil rigs in the week ending December 6, 2019, bringing the total count to 663, General Electric Co.’s Baker Hughes energy services firm said in its closely followed report on Friday.
The gas rig count rose by 2 rigs to 133 rigs for the week, compared to 198 rigs a year earlier.
