Saudi-based Intra Defense Technologies launched, in collaboration with The General Authority of Military Industries (GAMI), a local drones manufacturing system worth SAR 750 million, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The project includes manufacturing, developing and providing maintenance to unmanned aerial systems. Intra Defense will develop high tech drones at competitive costs.
“The project will start operation during Q1 2021, and Saudization rate is estimated at 60%,” said Salman Al-Shathri, CEO of Intra Defense.
He added that the project is projected to create approximately 500 direct jobs, with a Saudization rate of 70%.
Intra Defense aims to reach an export rate of 60% of the total business volume, Al-Shathri also stated.
