The Saudi Cabinet considers the launch of commercial development work for Jafurah gas field in the Eastern Province as an essential element in achieving some of the objectives of Vision 2030, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Jafurah gas field is recognized as a continuation for support and empowerment that the Saudi energy sector enjoys, as it will enhance the efforts in development and economic diversification, and the exploitation of its comparative advantages.

It will enable the Kingdom to enhance its leading position in the global energy market, in addition to its record in environmental protection and sustainability.

The Cabinet also expressed its satisfaction with the gradual recovery of the Kingdom's economy since mid-2020, which is stronger in 2021.

The Cabinet is pleased with the positive growth rates in diverse sectors, thanks to the realistic and responsible policies and measures taken in dealing with the pandemic to limit its humanitarian, financial, and economic repercussions.

The Cabinet continued the pandemic’s developments and the preventive measures taken to preserve public health in the Kingdom, in light of the developments in the epidemiological situation globally, with the emergence of a mutated strain of the virus in a number of countries and monitoring the transmission of infected people to other countries.

The Ministry of Energy announced, on Nov. 29, the commercial feasibility of the Kingdom’s mega unconventional resources, and the launch of Saudi Aramco's program for the expansion of its gas business, according to data compiled by Argaam.
