The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI), with the support of the National Center for Privatization & PPP, launched the request for qualification (RFQ) for its priority concessions procurement project related to the new multi-purpose terminals in eight commercial and industrial ports in Saudi Arabia.

The authority said in a statement that these concessions are intended to provide several services related to the handling of general cargo, RoRo, bulk, containers and livestock.

The contracts will help raise the level of service provided to the private sector, exporters and importers, as well as enhance the Kingdom's status as a global logistical hub, in line with Vision 2030.

The priority concessions are expected to be offered under long-term public-private partnership contracts using the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) model.

The submission of statement of qualification is available to all local and international investors, which will be qualified based on technical, financial and other general evaluation criteria. The last date of submission is Feb. 9, 2022.
