The board of directors of the General Authority for Competition (GAC) recently issued a decision to endorse the detailed regulations governing the implementation of reporting thresholds for economic concentration transactions.

According to a statement released by the authority, the board approved the detailed regulations governing mandatory economic concentration reporting. These regulations will be integrated into the guidance manual for examining economic concentration.

The amended regulations stipulate that the total combined sales of the parties involved in economic concentration should surpass SAR 200 million, while the total sales of the target entity should be in excess of SAR 40 million. Additionally, the total local sales of the parties engaged in economic concentration should exceed SAR 40 million.

Prior to this amendment, the reporting thresholds for economic concentration transactions mandated that the total combined sales of the parties involved in economic concentration exceed SAR 200 million.
