General Authority for Competition CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Zoom
The General Authority for Competition (GAC) has conducted a thorough study of the Saudi auto industry and identified the areas of deficiency and problems facing the sector, as well as violations that led to raising car prices compared to the global price, Governor Abdulaziz Al-Zoom said, stressing that criminal lawsuits were filed in this regard.
In an interview with Rotana Khalejia TV, Al-Zoom explained that the violations include a group of showrooms colluding to raise the price of a certain type of car.
He also expected that the efforts exerted by GAC in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, along with the ongoing investigations, would improve the prices.
