Saudi businessman Abdullatif Hamad Al Jabr passed away today, Dec. 20, Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Kassabi said in a post on X.
As an administrative and economic leader, Al Jabr had served as Chairman of Arab National Bank. He was a Shura Council member in its first session, and a member of many charitable, economic, and industrial committees.
Al Jabr was a pioneer in social work, and received the World Organization for Peace award in 2015 for his humanitarian work. He was the first Saudi to receive this international award, which was presented to him in a ceremony held at the UK parliament.
He held many charitable community initiatives, including Al Jabr Housing Project to provide furnished housing for the needy, educational complexes for boys and girls, Al Jabr ENT Hospital, and Al Jabr Kidney Center.
