OPEC’S Secretary-General Haitham Al Ghais said he believes that the recently published forecasts for long-term oil demand are robust, in an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

Saudi Arabia's decision to delay its capacity expansion plans should not be translated to mean there is a view that oil demand is weakening, according to Al Ghais.

"First of all, I want to be clear I cannot comment on a Saudi decision... but this is in no way to be misconstrued as a view that demand is falling," he was quoted as saying.
