The Ministry of Commerce announced starting an evaluation process for e-commerce stores, confirming that 17,000 e-commerce stores will be subject to evaluation by the end of the year.

According to Al-Eqtisadiah Newspaper, the ministry explained that the evaluation process is carried out using an automated robot system deploying artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to conduct surveys based on 11 criteria to verify the compliance of the e-commerce store.

This initiative to evaluate e-commerce stores using AI comes as part of recent announcements by the ministry aimed at enhancing compliance, safeguarding shoppers' rights, increasing compliance of e-commerce stores in the Saudi market, enabling merchants to know the evaluation of their e-commerce store, and providing the opportunity to correct the evaluation result after adhering to the specified standards.
