The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 155 new industrial licenses in May, while 122 new factories began production, according to the National Industrial and Mining Information Center (NIIC).
The ministry said in a statement today, July 14, that investments linked to these new licenses amounted to about SAR 3.25 billion, with the related projects expected to create over 2,450 job opportunities across the Kingdom.
Investments in factories that started production in May totaled SAR 930 million, generating 2,329 new jobs.
This underpinned the ongoing expansion of the Saudi industrial base and the rising pace of factories entering into force, the statement added.
As of May 2025, the number of existing industrial facilities hit 12,382, up more than 10% from 11,253 facilities during the same time previous year and 12,063 facilities last April, the ministry added.
