Industry Ministry issues 85 new mining licenses in September

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 85 new mining licenses during September, bringing the total active licenses in the sector to 2,551, according to the National Industrial and Mining Information Center’s (NIIC) mining indicators report for the month.

 

Licenses for building materials quarries topped the list, with 17 new licenses issued, raising the total to 1,526 active licenses. Exploration licenses followed, with 58 new ones granted, out of a total of 708 active licenses.

 

Meanwhile, the number of exploitation licenses for mining and small mines reached 252, while reconnaissance licenses stood at 51. There were also 14 active licenses for surplus mineral ores, the data showed:
