The US reported that its current account deficit rose by 2.6% during the first quarter of 2026, according to data released on Wednesday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
The US current account deficit thus reached approximately 2.9% of the US GDP in Q1 2026, up from 2.8% in the fourth quarter of 2025.
