NADEC names Solaiman Altwaijri new CEO as Steen Hadsbjerg steps down

National Agricultural Development Co. (NADEC) said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steen Hadsbjerg resigned, after submitting a request for the non-renewal of his contract on Nov. 28, 2021, due to personal reasons.

 

The request was approved by the board of directors on Feb. 25. The non-renewal request is valid until Feb. 28, NADEC said in a statement to Tadawul.

 

The company’s board of directors approved appointing Solaiman Altwaijri as new CEO effective from March 1, 2022, the company

 

Altwaijri was appointed as Managing Director Nov. 1, 2021. He has extensive experience in the fields of investment, industry, business development and corporate transformation for more than 25 years. He held various leadership positions, the last of which was the CEO of Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co.

 

He also managed various industrial, agricultural and investment companies, and was the chairman and a member of the board and committees for many listed companies inside and outside the Kingdom.

 

He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University in the US, and a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He has also received several awards and honors during his career.

 

Altwaijri resigned from his position as a NADEC board member on Feb. 25, on his appointment to the role of the company’s CEO. The resignation will come into effect on Feb. 28.

 

Altwaijri has been a member of the current board since the beginning of the current term on April 11, 2021.
