The General Directorate of Passports announced, in a tweet, the requirements for Saudi citizens to travel outside the Kingdom, as follows:
Passports must be valid for not less than three months before traveling to Arab nations, and not less than six months when traveling to other countries.
The national ID must be valid for more than three months when traveling to GCC countries.
The national ID uploaded on the Absher and Tawakkalna apps does not permit citizens to travel outside the Kingdom. They must present the original card.
The family record is a document proving the relationship of kinship between parents and dependents. It does not enable the bearer to travel to GCC countries.
The national ID card is mandatory to issue/renew a passport for dependents aged 10 years old or more. Any citizen with a passport valid for “three months for Arab countries and six months for the rest of the countries” can travel outside the Kingdom with no biometric authentication.
Before traveling to another country, citizens should have received three COVID-19 vaccine doses, or no earlier than eight months from the second dose, “with the exception of age groups determined by the Ministry of Health or excluded based on their health status on the Tawakkalna application.”
As for those aged between 12-16 years old, two doses of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine are required to travel abroad.
