Saudi Arabia allocated more than $80 billion for the implementation of hundreds of water projects over the coming years.
The move is part of the government's efforts to achieve equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water.
Abdulaziz AlShaibani, Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, said Vision 2030 comes in line with the goals of sustainable development as well as the development of the public sector, to be more flexible and sustainable, including the water sector.
The Kingdom adopted the National Water Strategy 2030 in 2018, to reach a sustainable water sector that develops and preserves water resources, protects the environment, and provides safe supply, high quality, and efficient services.
The Kingdom is working to deliver sanitation services to all citizens and increase the percentage of population benefiting from the sanitation services network from 54% in 2017 to more than 95% by 2030.
