Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail

Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail approved the Kingdom’s construction site fencing guide, aimed at regulating the construction sites of commercial buildings and their appearance, by defining technical specifications for this mandatory fencing, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The guide will contribute to reducing visual distortion and improving the urban landscape, as well as allocating space for storing building materials used in the project, separating workplaces from the outside perimeter and protecting pedestrians and vehicle drivers from encroaching on roads and streets.

Furthermore, it will support controlling and organizing construction sites and licensing according to unified standards, as well as preserving private property and limiting encroachment on public utilities.

The guide will be applied to construction projects for residential, commercial and governmental buildings for which building permits have been issued in accordance with the technical details in the guide across the Kingdom.

The ministry published the guide on the ministry's website. It took effect on March 23.

The ministry granted the existing commercial buildings three months to rectify their status.
