GCC, Iraq electrical interconnection enhances networks security: Saudi Minister

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman confirmed that the electrical interconnection initiative between the GCC region and Iraq became a reality.

During the ceremony of implementing the project, the minister said the initiative will achieve remarkable economic benefits, back the Iraqi network and support the electricity security. 

Electricity interconnection became a trend adopted by several European countries and others, the minister said, indicating that it may be the basis for international interconnection.
