Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) started the third phase of obligating the establishments to document 80% of the employees' contracts via Qiwa platform.

In a statement, the ministry pointed out the third phase will continue until the end of September.

The service aims to preserve the rights of the parties to the contractual relationship and provides a work environment that enhances employees’ stability and increases productivity. It also verifies the establishments' compliance with the labor laws and provisions, validates contract data, and reduces disputes and labor issues, the statement added.

The Ministry stressed the necessity for establishments to adhere to the required authentication percentages, to achieve the service goals and ensure the protection of the rights of the all parties to the contractual relationship.

Organizations that fail to comply with the required authentication percentages may be subject to penalties as stipulated in the applicable laws and regulations.

The Ministry stated that the contract authentication service allows employers to upload and update data on the contracts of Saudi and non-Saudis private sector employees.

It also allows workers to verify the validity of their contract data, to approve or reject the contract, or request contract amendment through the employee’s account on Qiwa platform.

In the event that both parties agree, the contract shall be deemed as authenticated by the Ministry.

In December, HRSD announced that the employment contracts for Saudis and non-Saudis are documented via Qiwa platform, Argaam earlier reported.
