Saudi Arabia yet to officially join BRICS: Alkassabi

Majid Alkassabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce

Saudi Arabia was invited to become a new member of the BRICS bloc but has not officially joined the group yet, Minister of Commerce Majid Alkassabi stated.

 

Addressing a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Alkassabi emphasized the need to establish a common language to enable communication and coordination among merchants, following a similar trend in the banking system which became a global language in terms of legislation.

 

He pointed out that the services sector needs more regulations and a general framework to confront the challenges facing the sector.
