Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb credited last year's success to Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's directive to target 150 million tourists annually by 2030. This goal is expected to contribute 10% to GDP and create a million jobs in the sector by 2030.
He highlighted that the tourism sector is advancing the national strategy to enhance tourist destinations, experiences, and hospitality services, in line with global standards. This effort aims to foster a thriving tourism industry and elevate the Kingdom's global tourism status.
The UN Tourism Organization and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) praised the Kingdom for surpassing 100 million tourists in 2023.
