China's energy use per capita surpasses Europe for first time: Report

Energy use per capita in China surpassed Europe for the first time in 2023, according to the Energy Institute’s annual Statistical Review. 

 

This was driven by the expansion of data centers, 5G infrastructure, and car charging. In addition, several factories run at full capacity to meet demand for goods overseas.
