Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih said that the new office of the Thailand Investment Authority (TIA) in Riyadh is the first in the Middle East, which will work to strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to creating new investment bilateral opportunities.

In his opening speech at the Saudi-Thai Investment Forum held in Riyadh, the Minister added that the Saudi-Thai partnership is set to move towards new horizons to achieve its full potential.

With regard to the agricultural sector, Saudi demand is expected to grow to reach more than $130 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.5%, he said.

Similarly, the agricultural sector in Thailand is of great importance, as exports reached $45 billion in 2022.

This constitutes a significant area for integration that will enhance trade, investment and improve food security in both countries, Al-Falih stated.
