Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources launched a license for professional factory development service within the industrial professional licenses, to develop industrial facilities and their business, improve production efficiency, and benefit from the experience of national cadres in the industrial sector.
In a statement, the ministry said that the tasks of a factory development professional include establishing and improving companies and industrial facilities, developing and improving production lines and reducing material costs.
Its scope also includes building and developing institutional strategies in industrial facilities, in addition to organizing operations and developing quality standards. The consultant should also analyze performance to enhance effectiveness and competitiveness in the market and communicate with stakeholders, such as investors and the board of directors.
Meanwhile, the role of the factory development professional includes developing production and operational processes in industrial facilities, estimating the costs of production operations, developing the strategic framework and special business models, and reviewing production schedules and engineering specifications.
The license is issued according to a set of standards and conditions, including that the applicant must be Saudi national, and must hold at least a bachelor’s degree from a university or college in the Kingdom, or any other equivalent certificate from outside Saudi Arabia from one of the recognized universities, the statement added.
