US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump urged the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates after the central bank last week kept them unchanged, Reuters reported.
"I'd like to see the Fed lower interest rates," Trump said during a meeting with his cabinet at the White House.
Trump consistently urges the Fed to slash borrowing costs. Just hours after the Fed's decision last week, he said the central bank should cut interest rates as the new tariffs take effect.
The Trump administration is preparing to announce a new wave of tariffs as of April 2, following his promise to impose what he called "reciprocal tariffs" on certain countries.
