Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecution has sentenced a citizen to five years in prison for committing financial fraud against 41 individuals through electronic sales platforms, the authority announced on Monday.

In a post on X, the Financial Fraud Prosecution said its investigation revealed that the defendant had carried out multiple scams by advertising fake products online. He deceived victims into believing goods were available for sale, then blocked them immediately after receiving payments to his bank account.

The suspect was arrested and referred to the relevant court, which found him guilty and handed down a five-year prison sentence.

The Public Prosecution reaffirmed its commitment to protecting society from all forms of financial fraud and pledged to continue pursuing strict legal action against anyone attempting to unlawfully seize others' funds.
