President Trump's tariffs are pouring billions more into US coffers in June, putting the revenue supplied by importers on pace for another monthly record.
The latest measure of government receipts for "Customs and Certain Excise Taxes" stood at more than $26.7 billion for the month of June, according to the Treasury Department’s latest daily statement dated June 24.
This surpassed the record revenue collected under this item in May, which stood at nearly $22 billion, up from around $17.4 billion in April and just $9.6 billion in March.
Revenues from tariffs this month are unlikely to rise significantly beyond current levels, as importers tend to settle dues in a single day. On June 24 alone, revenues reached approximately $19.94 billion.
Since the beginning of the year, the U.S. Treasury has collected $121.264 billion in tariffs and special taxes, according to the Daily Treasury Statement.
