Canada scraps digital services tax in bid to advance trade talks with US

Canada decided to cancel the digital services tax in an effort to expedite trade negotiations with the US, the country’s Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

 

The ministry added that Prime Minister Mark Carney and US President Donald Trump will resume trade negotiations with the aim of reaching an agreement by July 21, 2025.
