International rig count falls in June: Baker Hughes

The number of oil rigs worldwide declined by 107 year-on-year (YoY) in June, reaching a total of 1,600, recent data from the oilfield services company Baker Hughes showed.

 

However, the count rose by 24 rigs compared to the previous month.

 

The number of rigs in the Middle East increased month-on-month (MoM) to 339 in June, but it declined three units YoY.

 

Excluding the US and Canada, the number of global oil and gas rigs rose to 913 in June MoM, but it was down 44 YoY.
