Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, officially inaugurated the public bus transport project in Al-Ahsa, in a ceremony held two days ago.

The event was attended by Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail, along with several officials from relevant authorities.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the project covers 10 routes spanning 336 kilometers, with 135 stops across the governorate. It operates with a fleet of 41 buses driven by 123 drivers, providing daily service for 18 hours.

In October 2024, Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO) signed a five-year contract with Al-Ahsa Municipality to operate the public bus network in Al-Ahsa (Al-Mubarraz, Al-Hofuf, Al-Jafr, and Al-Omran) for approximately SAR 93 million, including VAT, according to data available with Argaam.
