US President Donald Trump described the US-India trade relationship one-sides, adding that India sells a huge amount of goods to America, but American companies struggle with their products in India. He cited India’s high tariffs as the main reason for this.
Trump explained in a post on Truth Social on Monday that the reason for this was the high tariffs imposed by New Delhi on American goods, which he considered "the highest of any country" and made it difficult for American products to enter the Indian market.
He pointed out that India relies primarily on Russia for its purchases of oil and military products, while relying only on the United States. He noted that New Delhi recently offered to lift tariffs on American imports, but he considered the move "too late."
