OpenAI unveiled plans on Sept. 4 to launch a new AI-powered recruitment platform in 2026, aimed at connecting employers with candidates skilled labor in the field.
The developer of ChatGPT also announced that it will roll out a training certification program in the coming months to equip employees with the skills to use AI tools in the workplace, Bloomberg reported.
The project is carried out in partnership with several companies, most notably Walmart, and the AI firm aims to issue accredited certificates to around 10 million Americans by 2030.
The certification program targets workforce readiness in specific sectors such as retail, where Walmart has already begun using AI tools to manage scheduling and logistics operations.
The announcement coincided with a White House working group meeting on AI and education, attended by leading tech figures including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
