US natural gas inventories rose more than expected during the week ending October 24, according to data released Thursday by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The data showed an increase of 74 billion cubic feet (bcf), compared to expectations for an increase of only 71 bcf.
US gas inventories are 0.8% higher than the same period last year and 4.6% above the five-year average of 3.711 trillion cubic feet.
