White House says October data collection disrupted due to government shutdown
The White House announced on Nov. 12 that key economic reports for October, including jobs and inflation data, may never be released due to the government shutdown.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained during a press briefing that the shutdown had disrupted data collection, leaving Federal Reserve policymakers without a clear view during a critical economic period.
She added that democrats may have caused permanent damage to the federal statistical system, with the possibility that the Consumer Price Index and jobs reports for October may not be released.
