Egypt denies increasing entry visa fee

09/12/2025 Argaam

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said recent reports claiming the country has raised its entry visa fees from USD 25 to USD 45 are completely false.

In a statement, the ministry said no executive decisions have been issued to increase Egypt’s entry visa fees.

It clarified that the only decision made at this time is to set a maximum limit for visa fees, not to implement an increase.

The ministry emphasized that the circulated information is merely rumors, confirming that any updates related to entry visas or other matters are announced, as usual, through official statements issued by the competent government authorities.

Several media outlets had recently reported that Egypt raised its entry visa fees from USD 25 to USD 45 as part of legislative amendments to Law No. 175 of 2025 concerning fees imposed for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ facilities.
