Energy facilities, East-West pipeline resume full operations: Ministry

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy announced the successful completion of operational and technical efforts to restore full pumping capacity through the East-West pipeline, estimated at around 7 million barrels per day (bpd).

This was in addition to the recovery of around 300,000 bpd of affected output from the Manifa field within a short period.

In a statement, the ministry added that work is still underway to fully restore production capacity at the Khurais field, noting that this will be announced upon completion.

It further stated that this rapid recovery reflects Saudi Aramco’s high operational flexibility and the energy sector’s efficiency in crisis management, reinforcing the reliability and continuity of supplies to local and global markets, and supporting the global economy.

According to Argaam data, an official source at the Ministry of Energy has recently stated that vital energy facilities in the Kingdom were targeted with dozens of attacks, including a pumping station on the key East-West pipeline. This resulted in the loss of approximately 700,000 bpd in pumping capacity.

The Manifa production facility was also targeted, leading to a loss of around 300,000 bpd in output, while the Khurais facility had previously been targeted, reducing its production by 300,000 bpd. This resulted in a total loss of 600,000 bpd in the Kingdom’s production capacity.
