Trump explained that he does not expect oil price movements and developments in the energy market to affect the course of his meeting with the Chinese president.

Regarding the economic repercussions, Trump acknowledged that the war would negatively impact the pace of US economic growth, saying that the economy would take a hit during the conflict.

He indicated that this impact would be temporary, explaining that the economy might be affected for several weeks before returning to a path of recovery. He also predicted a significant drop in oil prices before the midterm elections.
