US President Donald Trump stated that Iran has violated the ceasefire agreement several times, escalating tensions as the fragile truce between the two sides nears its expiration, per a post on the "Truth Social" platform today, April 21.

 

The truce is scheduled to end—according to Trump’s statements—on Wednesday evening. He warned that the US would bomb Iran heavily if the truce expires without an extension.

 

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance is set to depart for the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, later today in preparation for a potential second round of negotiations to end the current conflict with Iran, CNN reported, citing sources in the know.
