Indra, the Spain-based premier information technology company, will implement a ticketing control system for the Riyadh public transport project with a cost of SAR 1.1 billion.
According to the company’s statement, the contract was signed on Jan. 5 by Riyadh governor Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Eduardo Bonnet, executive vice president of Indra.
The project, which is the largest ticketing system in the world, will be implemented in 54 months, while the maintenance contract will be extended to 10 years.
The contract includes pricing technology, control, technical support center for the ticketing system, and gates for technical access.
According to the company, the project will also include about 1,000 buses, in addition to 80 stations at six metro stations.
