Saudi Arabia saw a 19 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in online job postings during July, according to Monster's latest monthly employment index.

The kingdom's creative industry continued to see the most momentum with  software, hardware and telecoms specialists being most sought after positions.

"The same trend is reflected region wide, with a 78 percent y-o-y increase in demand for software hardware and telecom professionals," said Sanjay Modi, Monster.com's managing

director for the Middle East and Asia. "According to Gartner Governments, the Middle East and North Africa will spend $11.97 billion on IT products and services in 2015," he added.

Meanwhile, the country's production and manufacturing, automotive and ancillary industries witnessed the biggest decline in hiring activity.

When compared to the rest of the GCC region, Saudi Arabia fell behind due to a slowdown in business activity during the month. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) dominated with a 35 percent rise in postings, followed by Qatar (23 percent).
